Now, two more colorways for the Air Jordan CP shoes are being released. With its inspiration coming from 61 point game and his love of bowling, the CP3 shoe is one of Chris great achievements. Expect these to be release this upcoming March.
Jordan Brand, a division of Nike, announced that New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul will finally get his own shoe. Along with Carmelo Anthony and Derek Jeter, Paul will have a line of signature shoes called The Jordan CP which will hit stores this weekend. "Having my very own sneaker has been a childhood dream. I am thrilled and honored to have this opportunity to launch my first signature shoe with Jordan Brand," said Chris Paul, Team Jordan athlete. "The Jordan CP exceeds all of my on-court needs and this was a great chance for me to design a shoe that reflects my inspirations in life and share it with the world." The shoe has a "61" etched into it which symbolizes his grandfather. After his grandfather died, Paul played in a high school basketball game scoring exactly 61 points, one for each year his grandfather had lived. The letters "SP" stitched on the backside of the tongue are in loving memory of his mentor and former college coach Skip Prosser.
The shoe also comes with Chris Paul's signature stitch; a bowling pin configuration on the ankle that spotlights his other favorite sport - bowling. The Jordan CP also takes its design inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of the Mardi Gras Indians and the city of New Orleans paying homage to the Hornets with a New Orleans stinger heel pull tab, according to the press release. The first colorway is black and red, while the other colorway is white and red. Outside of the difference between the black and the white, there isn’t much different between the two shoes. Besides flavor garnered from New Orleans, you can also find tributes to bowling (one of Paul’s favorite hobbies) and Paul’s late grandfather.
Jordan CP3.II Little Dragon - Chris Paul went to china to promote his new signature shoes the Jordan CP3.II and it was named “Little Dragon” which draws inspiration from Zhao Yun. The new shoes of Chris Paul, the Jordan CP3.II “China” features white upper with vibrant blue stitching. The heel of the shoes consists of an intricate black cushioned material while the panel on the heel has intricate detailed drawings in black, blue, and gold. Zhao Yun is a infamous character in Chinese literature.
